New Delhi : The University Grant commission (UGC) are adamant on the decision to conduct final year exam’s across the nation putting the lives of lakhs of student’s in danger.
UGC Vice chairman in an interview with a reputed news agency said that UGC is very clear from beginning that universities need to conduct final year exam’s and no one can promote student’s without final exam’s.
The officials of UGC also informed Bombay High Court that “No state has power to cancel final exam’s as per UGC act”. This states that Universities in Maharashtra need to hold exam’s even in this pandemic situation.
Panjab & Haryana High court on the other hand have asked Panjab university to reconsider its decision and check the feasibility to evaluate student’s on previous semesters performance.

In an another interview with another reputed news agency, VC of UGC said that “Universities can do the evaluation the way they want to, the guidelines are not imposing on them”.
On one side University grant commission said exam’s are compulsory and the guidelines are binded across the nation and on other hand officials states that universities can evaluate student’s they way they want to.
Supreme Court will hear the case on 27 July, 2020 and High court will also hear this on same date.
