UGC : Only 454 Universities are conducting Final year Exams

HRD Minister

University Grant Commission (UGC) released revised guidelines on 6 July, 2020 in which they stated that all final year students need to give last semester exams and degrees will not be warded with that.

Many State governments like Tamil nadu, Odisha, New Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Mumbai are against this decision from beginning. Delhi Govt. also announced that all Final year exam’s stands cancelled in all state universities of delhi.

UGC also conducted a meeting with all educational secretaries to understand the issue of states and resolve it without any consequences. They approached all Central and state universities to check the preparations of final year exams.

Universities Response

UGC received response form 640 universities in which 120 are deemed universities, 229 are private universities, and 251 are state universities.

182 Universities confirmed that they have already conducted final year exam’s and only 234 are planning to conduct in sometime. 177 Universities have not even decided to conduct exams or not.
