Delhi University announced it’s first cutoff list on Tuesday. After the announcement students started applying for colleges and alot of them faced difficulties in doing so. Delhi University’s server came down and to Worsen students situation DigiLocker a public cloud storage was not linked to the varsity portal. This forced the students to flock colleges to seek help in generating forms.
Admissions rules say that the applicant needs to see the cut-off list, select the course and college on the university’s website and take a print out of the generated application. This application needs to be carried out to the respective college with the required documents.
There were contradicting views on the accessibility of the websites, some students and professor claimed the website to be inaccessible while DU Officials said that though the website had heavy traffic it was functioning properly.
DigiLocker was not linked to the varsity portal as a result the certificates and documents stored weren’t available for students access. DigiLocker is an electronic space in a government-owned public storage cloud, in which an individual can store their files. The individual can also download or share the documents online with various others as required. The portal is linked to the aadhar of individual.
