The change in norms for students under OBC category has left the students with difficulties. Now the students have to produce OBC category certificates issued after March 31, 2018.
The candidates seeking admission were lesft in lurch when they were asked to produce category certificates by competitive authorities according to the new norms. Students from outside Delhi face major difficulties as they need to go back and produce new certificates.
Last year DU accepted certificate up to an year ago. Though the conditions were mentioned in the rules many students failed to read the rules properly and are facing difficulties. Until last year, the aspirants were allowed to submit certificates issued up to a year ago
Easing students pressure the university has allowed the colleges to provisionally admit the aspiring students. The notification says that students will have submit the certificate within two weeks.
There is 27% reservation for OBC applicants (non-creamy). This year the colleges have to ensure that the student’s caste is there in the OBC central list and in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment’s list as well.
