Known for its exorbitant cut-offs, the Shri Ram College of Commerce is a dream college of every student. This esteemed college affiliated to Delhi University embarked its journey in 1920, on the auspicious day of Basant Panchmi. Formally known as Commercial College, the educational institution was built by seven superior businessmen of Delhi. The establishment of the Commercial College paved the entry of commerce education in the system of University of Delhi. 

 

After the initial glorious years, the college saw an upgradation to Degree college with an introduction of B.A. Honours (Commerce Group), M. A. Economics and Commerce courses in 1948. Second in line was B.Com Honours in 1949.  

 

In 1951, on the occasion of the silver jubilee, the Commercial College decided to specialize in the field of commerce and economics and hence rechristened itself as Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in recognition of the contribution made by its founder Sir Shri Ram. After three years, in 1954 the college relocated itself to the present day location known as North Campus of University of Delhi. 

 

The infrastructure provided by Shri Ram College of Commerce can be measured upto the standards set by International institutions. Facilitated with air conditioners, modern tools and techniques, the classrooms present a vibrant environment for teaching-learning process. The college is also furnished with a gigantic auditorium and a state-of-thart seminar hall large enough to accommodate 750 persons. The indoor stadium, wide corridors, superior canteen and large green gardens which aids the students to escape the monotonous study routine and take a break.

 

The exclusive campus makes Shri Ram College of Commerce a top notch college of India. The college library is furnished with digital solutions and is upgraded with innovations. Additionally, there is a Resource Center for Visually Challenged students which possesses an array of audio-visual aids to assist in the self-actualization process. The building of the college retains its heritage look with vintage furniture in view of its recognition as a “Heritage Building” by the government of Delhi. Further. There is a tutorial block where the students can have  interaction sessions with the faculty on extra-curricular and academic matters.

 

By offering the best faculty for B. Com Honours and B.A. Honours Economics courses, SRCC ranks #12 position as per NIRF Rankings. The average fees range is Rs 28,910 for both B. Com Honours and B.A. Economics. Apart from the academics, the official fest “Crossroads” is the most hyped fest under Delhi University. Enchanting celebrities like Atif Aslam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kailash Kher perform at the annual fest. Numerous interactive seminars and enlightenment sessions are organised by  Indira Nooyi (CEO, PepsiCo), Sunder Pichai (CEO, Google), Papa CJ (Standup comedian) at intervals.

 

If we talk about placement, notable ventures like Deloitte, BCG, Mckinsey & Company, Zomato, Indus Insights, Dalberg, RSA, AIG, L.E.K. Consulting, DE Shaw & Co, PWC, KPMG, Google, J.P. Morgan, AT Kearney, Barclays, Citi Bank come to Shri Ram College of Commerce Delhi University for placements. The average package offered was Rs 9.48 lakhs and the highest package was Rs 31 lakhs in 2019.
