A plea was filed by a differently abled DU’s student residing in Gwyer Hall hostel in Delhi’s High Court. It was for not conducting the student’s union elections in hostel. According to Umang Bhardwaj, the student residing in Gwyer Hall said that no polls were held for session 2018-19 and the
previous year’s union continued to exercise the powers. Justice Yogesh Khanna, demanded response on the petition by DU and hostel which has vied that the current president was involved in many dereliction.

His petition was filed through advocates Harsh Ahuja and Kushal Sharma. As told by Umang actions were taken on students opposing the act of not holding elections. Two students who wanted to represent for the post of mess secretary in the hostel union had to retribute.
