The College of Vocational Studies better know as CVS is a college under Delhi University, founded in 1972, with an special emphasis laid on vocational education.
The college offers B.A. (Vocational Studies) in 7 fields that are:
1.Management and Marketing of Insurance (MMI)
It is a three-year undergraduate insurance course having only 50 seats. The course includes risk management, insurance law, principles of life insurance, general insurance, corporate laws etc.
2.Marketing Management and Retail Business (MMRB),
B.A.(VS) MMRB is a three-year full time course with 100 seats. The course structure includes marketing, business communication, business law, retail management, entrepreneurship etc.
3.Tourism Management,
Tourism management is a full time three year degree course with an availability of 100 seats. The course includes history of tourism, entrepreneurship and small business, tourist marketing, corporate law, E-commerce etc.
4.Office Management and Secretarial Practice (OMSP),
The course deals with managing and maintaining office and includes communication methods, financial accounting, Secretarial practice, banking and insurance operations, corporate laws, phonography etc. This course has 89 seats.
5.Small and Medium Enterprises (SME)
SME is a three-year full time course with 50 seats available every year. The course includes organizational management, financial accounting, corporate law, business law, marketing, human resource management etc.
6.Human Resource Management (HRM)
Human Resource Management includes business organization and environment, organizational behavior, financial accounting, corporate laws, business law etc. There are 100 seats available every year.
7.Material Management (MM).
Material Management includes. Store keeping and store accounting, business communication, business law, quality management etc. Every year there are 50 seats for this course.
Other than these offbeat courses CVS also has courses like B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics (BBE), and Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS). The College also offers regular Honours courses like B.Com (Hons.), B.A. (Hons.) Economics, B.A. (Hons.) History, B.Sc. (Hons.) Computer Science, and B.A. (Hons.) Hindi.
Apart from these the CVS also has two certificate Courses:
German language
French language
CVS is located in Delhi at Sheikh Sarai-II and the Nearest Metro Station is Malviya Nagar. The college is very close to Select Citywalk.
