In India, the Corona-virus cases are increasing day by day and India is now on the top 3 among the world in the list of highest covid cases. With the speed of increasing corona virus cases, our educational system was forcing student’s to write exams in this situation.
Student’s all over India is facing the issue and many have raised there voices to cancel Terminal semester examination like intermediate semester was cancelled in the month of May.
Recently, Delhi Government has announced that they have decided not to conduct final year exams in Delhi and this decision has been taken for all State Universities of Delhi. But, Delhi University being a Central University have to follow guidelines of UGC.
Student’s have also shown there anger on Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) for not supporting student’s in this situation, instead DUSU is with UGC and want’s University to conduct Exam’s. ABVP have 3 seats in DUSU – President Akshit Dahiya, Vice President Pradeep Tanwar & Joint Secretary Shivangi Kharwal. ABVP also welcomed the decision announced by UGC few days ago.
Many student’s unite against ABVP and started a hashtag #shameonABVP along with #ShameonUGC . This was expected from student’s because a Student Union who can ask for votes from student’s but cannot stand with them when student’s need them was unacceptable. On the other hand Ashish Lamba – DUSU secretary from NSUI is standing with the student’s from starting.
Recently, NSUI along with Students has been demanding the Delhi government to promote the Students and grant them relief . The NSUI created #SpeakUpforstudents to bring attention of the government towards their dilemma. Not but the least, The party stood with the students from the beginning of this war and is giving its best for the safety of Student’s.
Today, Mandeep Singh from Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce has also wrote letter to DUSU President Akshit Dahiya asking him to clarify student’s whether DUSU is with UGC or Student’s.
This is the high time for every student, Teacher and Political Parties to unite together for a single moto – #CancelFinalyearExams.
