Today Manish sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi announced in a press conference that Delhi Government decided to promote all students including Final years without having exams because of COVID-19 pandemic. The Universities were told to release the results on the basis of previous performance asap.

The decision of government will only apply to state universities like IPU, DTU, etc whereas Delhi University is not a state university , it is a Central University. Therefore in this regard Arvind Kejriwal, CM, Delhi have wrote letter to PM Narendra Modi to reconsider the decision of UGC and scrap exams this year.

“For the sake of our youth, I urge the honourable Prime Minister to personally intervene and cancel final year exams of DU and other central government universities and save the future”

“Since no studies took place this semester. It was not possible to hold exams. So we have asked universities to cancel exams and promote students on basis of past results or progressive method of evaluation,” sid MR. Sisodia in the press release.

Delhi Government also think that if Final year results get delayed, many students who are enrolled for higher studies or those who already have jobs in hand will get stuck. The decision was taken after student’s protest on Twitter and NSUI raised there voice against the decision taken by UGC.
