DU students will protest again demanding curfew – less nights for women’s hostels

An agitation held by a student’s collective on Wednesday ( Oct 9) at the Arts Faculty of the Delhi University . Their demands included curfew-less nights for women .

The call by Pinjra Tod came after the group held an all night protest in the University on Monday and adding to that , they blocked traffic on the Mall Road because their talks with the proctor and deputy proctor of DU reportedly went into vain.

A charter of demands to the Vice -Chancellor of the University was submitted by the organisation concerning demand of removal of curfew timings and allowing 24 -hour entry into women’s hostels , abolishment of the concept of local guardians for the students and keeping a facility for an emergency local contact .

A new women’s hostel was also demanded for the differently abled students and asked for the set up of an internal complaint committee against sexual harassment in all colleges and institutions.

There’s a threat from them regarding staging a protest next week if the demands are not met .
