DU SOL to offer five new online undergraduate courses

Delhi University’s School of Open Learning (SOL) is gearing up for starting five new undergraduate courses through online mode this year. This current step will enable students to study and access these courses and modules from anywhere in the country through online mode.

Students will be able to study from anywhere with the help of social websites which will comprise of live streaming of video lectures, e-books and easy access to study materials.

UGC gazette stated that the open schools require e-modules which are self-explanatory, self-contained, amenable to self-evaluation and should include e-text materials, video lectures, audio-visual interactive material, virtual classroom sessions, podcasts, virtual simulation and self-assessment tests.

Established in the year 1962, SOL has been known for providing degrees in the subjects of Humanities, Arts and Commerce under the realm of Delhi University. It has been one of the biggest open universities of the country providing distance education to students from years.

CS Dubey, SOL director said that the SOL has developed a special system including live streaming of lectures. Teachers have already developed the lectures and have hired special tutors and interns. The online procedure will commence soon.
