Delhi University : The lock down and Covid-19 pandemic have not hit only economy of our country, but have also effected our educational system. Today, final year student’s future is at stake and our government is doing nothing.
University of Delhi, one of the prestigious university of India who delayed their exams approximately 2-3 months. Usually student’s get there degrees or transcripts by 1st week of July but till now student’s don’t even know about there exams.
According to UGC order, Delhi University have promoted 1st and 2nd years without having exams but university is still going ahead to conduct mandatory exams for final years.

Delhi University (DU) was going to conduct open book exams on 1st July earlier but then postponed it to 10 July as they were not prepared to hold exams. Later they postponed again to 10 July for which Mock test were conducted on 4th July, which was a complete failure.
Many Student’s are opposing this decision in Delhi High court against DU Open Book examination challenging the concept of online exams.
DU exams to begin from 10 August

Delhi High Court directed DU to hold exams from 10 August and DU is prepared according to them but 1st phase of Mock test says it all. Phase 1 of Mock test seems to be Mockery version 2 for student’s.
This postponement of exam’s have created more anxiety and tention among the students. There are Thousands of students in DU who have applied for PG or MBA and many have got Job offers.
According to Vinay Gupta, The results of this current semester will be released by 1st week of Nov and final year students need to face this issue if exams happened. B-schools and Companies are demanding for final results and those who will not submit it, there offer will be revoked.
A DU Student, Shreya sharma was one of the student who secured a seat in University of Sydney but due to unavailability of final transacript, she lost her admission is a dream university. She shared that deadline for submitting transcripts is 29th July and after this her admission will be deffered.
Another Final year student from Hansraj College, Tapsi chadha, who is already facing a lot of issues because of disappointment in 5th semester results.
“The English Honors’ Results for the 5th Semester were quite disappointing in general. Students feel that the marks provided were sort of random, and we definitely did not expect such low grades after all the hard work.”

Student’s future is in risk and everyone has hopes on Judiciary now. SC will hear the matter against UGC guidelines on 31 July, Friday. Student’s will definitely get Justice.
