DU Admissions Increased 6 Times This Year

Delhi university offers around 56000 seats. After the first cut off was released on 18th June, over 11000 seats were filled. This was considered a record- breaking number as last year around 2000 seats were filled after 1st cut off was released. An official said it is 6 times the number last year students enrolled themselves in DU after 1st cut off.
The last day of the admission process in delhi university ended on Thursday.

The day one of admission which was 19th June, the rush on the government’s portal was extreme. The DigiLocker, a government-owned public cloud storage where certificates and documents were stored, was not integrated. However, the second and third day went off smoothly .

The 5 colleges where maximum students enrolled themselves were Hindu College, where 785 seats were occupied , followed by Gargi College, where 674 seats were filled, Miranda House, where 628 seats were blocked, Lady Shri Ram College, where 579 seats were filled, and Shaheed Bhagat Singh College where 575 seats were filled.

The courses which had the most seats filled were BCom (H) in which 1401 seats were filled, followed by BA(P) in which 1371 seats were filled, with the third most popular course BA(H) political science where 1004 seats were filled. The other courses were BA(H) history where 819 seats were occupied and BCom where 807 seats were filled.
