Infrastructure
Besides providing students with a motivational environment , the office block , union room, a beautiful common room , clean and spacious medical room , photo- stating facilities, comfortable staff room , individual departmental rooms, seminar hall, committee room, computer labs , the sports infrastructure , the large and modern cafeteria and the open air auditorium , a research room for teachers, are some of the facilities that create a holistic environment for the pursuit of academic and extra- curricular interests. This college has the distinction of being one of the few to have a disabled- friendly campus with ramps, toilets and lift that cater to specific needs as well as an assistance system for the visually challenged students and faculty. The college gardens never fail to fetch admiring glances from visitors and prizes at the various annual flower shows in the city. JDMC was the first college to install a rain water harvesting system which has been rated as one of the best in Delhi by the Centre for science and Environment and has won the Chief Ministers prize for Institutional Rain Water Harvesting.
Despite all the achievements made by the college there are exists certain flaws that renders in pulling back the college to some extent. The ratio of students not getting placements is higher to those who get jobs after graduating. Only marketing field companies provide jobs to the students. The auditorium isn’t fully air conditioned and the college suffers due to lack of water supply just like any other college of Delhi. The library and Wi-Fi connectivity is not provided to the non- collegiate students. Regular classes take place even on Saturdays.
However JDMC has been successful in the promotion of enduring knowledge which is global in its perspective and yet local in its relevance in spite of all the shortcomings that it faces.
