“I didn’t even know I was addicted, until I tried to stop” .It’s not new when we are told that smoking is injurious to health. Every single one of us is familiar with the short video that precedes movie screenings. However, the irony lies in the same movies that go about romanticising this habit. A stick of cigarette is symbol of high class and style, whatever be the consequences..Cigarette smoking is an ill overlooked and taken for granted. Never questioned and never much condemned. This is a sickness frequently diagnosed but seldom medicated..With a unique thought, Rotaract Club of Young Visionaries’  & Those In Need’s next campaign is about picking up the cigarette butts from the streets of Delhi and providing the collected butts to the companies which recycle them.
Although, it doesn’t put a full stop to active and passive smoking nor heeds the much ignored cry for pollution, we believe that this little act of exchanging stubs for manure can go a long way in nurturing our environment. Not just that, it is also a great way to improve well-being and livelihood through our social design process which allows to make the best out of these stubs.
With project “Stub-lings” we take the first conscious step towards using organic manure and upcycling cigarette stubs in a holistic manner
