While every other university is struggling to take exams of the students amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and is shifting to online modes of examinations such as Open Book Examination. IIT Goa came up with a very unique and interesting method of evaluation.
This method is gaining much attention as a screenshot of the analogue circuit question paper from IIT Goa has become viral. The screenshot mentions that the students are asked to prepare questions of 60 marks by themselves and then answering them. Marks will be awarded based on how well the questions are framed and answered.
The viral snapshot of the structure of the examination stated, “Prepare the questions of 60 marks from the lecture materials provided to you in the entire semester (Lecture 1 to Lecture 30). It should reflect your understanding of the course and also must be answered in 2 hours. Avoid discussion with your friends; it may reduce your score if similarities are found. Answer the question that you prepared.”
This method is gaining much popularity because of its uniqueness, and unconventionality. Various social media platforms are flooded with memes of IIT Goa’s unique approach to evaluate students. IIT Goa’s approach is without doubt worth all the attention.
