This is the 2021 recap… we need to remember as we bid adieu to this year!

1. We saw everyone coming together

2021 was like 2020, where humankind suffered from rising coronavirus and nationwide lockdown. However, without losing our hearts, all of us came together to battle as one. The social media was full of leads with medicines, beds, oxygen and other requirements. It was during this moment, that we realised that together we can go through it all. We can face it all if we’re together. People were helping each other knowing or without knowing whom they were helping.

2. India won so many medals at Tokyo Olympics

From Mirabai Chanu to Neeraj Chopra, the Indian athletes showed a spectacular performance. We bagged many medals. 2021 was a great year for us and athletes at Tokyo Olympics. Every single Indian clapped their hands and showed enthusiasm to cheer the athletes.

3. The daughters of India made us proud

Kamala Harris was appointed as the Vice President of the US. Leena Nair became the CEO of Chanel. Harnaaz Sandhu bagged the title of Miss Universe 2021. These strong-headed females represented India at the international level and make us proud. In a true sense, they were desh ki beti 

(daughter of the nation) who overcame all the burdens and achieved milestones.

4. The farmers’ protest ended

Finally, after one year of hardship, the farmers protest ended. When the government accepted their demands, we all sighed with relief. The sight, the happiness at farmers’ faces was so beautiful. Even though we lost a lot of our farmer brothers, through this we learnt the power of unity. The farmers knew that their demands were lawfully right and thus they stood as it is and finally their hard work bore fruit.

5. Stereotypes were shattered

From the first gay couple married in Telangana to Mandira Bedi performing the last rites of her husband… 2021 was a year where we broke all stereotypes and moved ahead in terms of old rituals we believed in and followed.
