UGC Guidelines Verdict : States cannot promote Students without holding Exam’s

final year exams

New Delhi : The Supreme Court quash the batch of plea challenging UGC Guidelines to hold final year exams. Supreme court refused this prayer in the verdict today.

The apex court pronounced order by mentioning all points clearly. The Disaster management act don’t have any authority to cancel final year exams. Univeristies cannot promote Students on the basis of internal Assessment.

It is mandatory to hold final year exam’s as per UGC Guidelines. DMA have authority to only Postpone the exam’s if they want. They can approach UGC for the same to extend deadline.

Supreme court also said that it is not mandatory to hold exams before September 30. States can sit with UGC to fix dates of exams.

The States who have Earlier announced that the exam’s will be Cancelled will now have to conduct Exam’s anyhow. Delhi University have already in the last stage of OBE. Physical exams of DU will begin from Sept 14.
