Here is the list of top arts colleges which are affiliated to Delhi university.

1. ST. Stephen’s College

This prestigious institution is one of the oldest College in the country. The College was has been previously affiliated to the Calcutta university till 1882, then with the University of Punjab till 1922 and finally to the University of Delhi.

The College has courses like Chemistry,
Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, English, Economics, History, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu Persian, BSc Program and BA Program.

The alumni of this College have been several ministers, writers, entrepreneurs, public servants, artists , journalists etc. The list is never ending. Barkha Dutt of NDTV, Authors such as Khushwant Singh, Ramachandran Guha and Amitav Ghosh. Polititians like Virbhadra Singh, Sachin Pilot, Rahul Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor have graduated from Stephan’s College.

2. Lady Shree Ram College for Women

Popularly Known as LSR was founded in 1956 by Sir Shri Ram, he also the founder of Shree Ram College of Commerce. The College is famous in the DU circuit for its annual fest Tarang.

The College offers courses such as B.A. (H) in Economics, English, Hindi, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology and Psychology, B.Com. (H), B.A. Programme, BSc. (H) Mathematics, BSc.(H) Statistics, B.El.Ed, Postgraduate Diploma in Conflict Transformation and Peace-building (CTPB), Journalism and Mass Communication (H).

LSR has also produced many famous alumni. Actresses such as Aditi Rao Hydari, Archana Puran Singh, Sakshi Tanwar, TV anchor Nidhi Razdan, Filmmaker Deepa Mehta are some alumni of this premier College

3.Hindu College

Krishan Dassji Gurwale founded the College in the year 1899. It is also One of the three institutions that were first affiliated to University of Delhi with the other two being Stephan’s and Ramjas.

The College offers courses in Botany, Commerce, Economics, English, Hindi, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Physics, Sanskrit, Sociology, Statistics, Zoology, Chemistry and Physical science.

Hindu is famous for its Extra-curricular activities. Ibtida( Dramatics Society) to name a few is a famous name in the DU theatre circuit and is also one of the oldest theatre society, started by Imtiaz Ali.

The list of alumni includes Bhardwaj duo singer Rekha Bhardwaj and Filmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, Historian Bipan Chandra, Cricketer Gautam Gambhir to name a few.

4. Miranda House

Miranda House was founded by Sir Maurice Gwyer in the year 1948. Miranda offers B.A.(H) in these disciplines Bengali, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology. B.Sc.(H) in Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology, B.Sc. in Life sciences and Physical science and B.El.Ed. Students of Miranda are called Mirandians.

5. Hansraj College

The college was founded by DAV College Management Committee in the memory of Mahatma Hansraj on 26 July 1948.

Hansraj has courses available in
Botany ,Chemistry ,Commerce ,Computer Science ,Economics ,English, Hindi ,History ,Mathematics ,Philosophy ,Physics and Electronics ,Sanskrit ,Sports-Physical Education And Zoology.

6. Ramjas College

Ramjas is one of the oldest colleges in India. It one of the first three institutions In University of Delhi. It was named after Lala Ramjas the father of the founder Rai Kedar Nath.

7. Sri Venkateshwara College

Venky has increased it’s popularity in the recent years through a great society culture and academics. It was founded by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) Trust in 1961.
