The year that went past was another chapter on the page of business and diversity for the top entrepreneurship cell in the University of Delhi, The Entrepreneurship Cell of Hindu College. With multiple events, workshops, visits and sessions, Hindu College has set a new height for industriousness.

In a short span of time, Convoke has risen to become one of the most acclaimed entrepreneurship events in the Delhi University circuit. The event not only taps into the multiple virtues of entrepreneurship but exciting competitions and intensive networking and speaker sessions. This year it witnessed a massive footfall of students from colleges pan-Delhi, coming together to leverage their financial intellect and creativity to compete and win in ‘Ideate’ and ‘Corporate Knot’, two business-oriented competitions. With lucrative prizes, the rooms were overwhelmed with zeal and exuberance.

Ultimately, Convoke provides an engaging platform for young entrepreneurs to network and learn. Some of Delhi’s revered mentors and homegrown entrepreneurs took speaker sessions, sharing their life experiences and invaluable insights into the entrepreneurial world. The speaker sessions were followed by a ‘meetup’ with E-Cells from across the capital, participating in a bid to forge a cohesive platform for innovation.

Moving down the year, the cell organised the Hindu Entrepreneurship Summit, one of the most distinguished entrepreneurial events in the Delhi University circle. The summit provides a comprehensive platform for investors, mentors, start-ups and students alike. It is an opportunity for start-ups to showcase their innovation to investors and potential customers. Start-up Expo, a part of the Hindu Entrepreneurship Summit witnessed thirty start-ups, each presenting a pitch deck tailored to their unique idea. For investors, it is was a chance to find their quintessential start-up and incubate them. More than 20 visionary investors and mentors from revered VC firms attended the expo. Students made the most out of the expo as well, grabbing lucrative internship offers and networking models.

Plastic is now a world epidemic. As a part of the social entrepreneurship campaign, The Entrepreneurship Cell of Hindu College firmly believes in change through action. The society collaborated with a renowned recycling company and got a plastic bottle recycling machine installed in the college canteen. One can deposit plastic bottles in exchange for coupons of an eco-friendly merchandise. With such a hassle-free process, the outlook towards plastic bottles has changed dramatically. Within the first 10 days, the machine recorded a collection of 300 bottles. What once was seen as an elitist phenomenon is now a habit deep inculcated.

The Entrepreneurship Cell of Hindu College was formed with the sole vision to make entrepreneurship and business available to every student and member who wants to create an impact in the world of possibilities.  The society wants to make entrepreneurship a viable option for anyone who has a simple solution to a complex problem and is willing to take a risk. As a step ahead, the society aims to actively assist young start-ups in their early stages by undertaking research analysis projects and offering pitch deck and consulting assistance. Along with this, E-Cell Hindu is actively working to widen its avenues, tap into several untouched fields and use innovation to fill Delhi University with a positive entrepreneurial synergy.
