Telangana CM to Modi: Rename Hyderabad Central University as PV Narasimha Rao Central University

On Sunday, 28th June 2020, K Chandrasekhar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to change the official name of Hyderabad Central University to PV Narasimha Rao Central University.

The state government also hosted an event to mark PV Narasimha Rao’s 99th birthday anniversary along with starting a year-long centenary celebration of the former PM.

Known for introducing major economic reforms in the country, PV Narasimha Rao served as the ninth Prime Minister of India from 1991-1996.

PM Modi praised the former PM Rao for his down to earth attitude, his fight to stand up against injustices everywhere and for being a great leader for the country.
