In conversation with Mandeep Singh, President, Student Union, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce. We discussed on the issues related to upcoming online examination starting from July 1.
He put several valid points which no one can disagree. This is the first time University of Delhi conducting semester exams online for final year students and promoting 1st & 2nd years due to a pandemic situation.
University of Delhi is doing an experiment on final year students which everyone will believe and online exams were not feasible for every one. He said ” we also have to think about those who don’t have laptops, smartphones and internet access.
University mentioned in there guidelines that in case any student fails to download question paper or upload answer sheets, then he/she can connect with college and they will provide you question paper via whatsapp or email. There is a big question, can we use whatsapp without internet? If not so then we need a internet connection to use such software and if we have internet access then we can upload the answer sheet directly on DU Portal.
There are many student bodies who are working hard to pressurize the university and cancel final year examination. Today, DUSU met with Examination dean vinay gupta related to this issue.
