One of the focal points of the season was the participation of three companies from the league of the Big 4 namely EY, KPMG and Deloitte. The college also added 37 new recruiters to its portfolio including Zilingo, MXV Consulting, Udaan, BYJUs and Claro Agro.
The season witnessed Bain Capability Network (BCN) associating with the college to conduct a case study competition, BrAIN WARS, wherein the selected teams received the golden opportunity to be mentored by BCN Professionals. The top 10 participants were also given an opportunity to appear directly for a Pre-Placement Interview.
The ties with Goldman Sachs were strengthened further as they visited the campus yet again to hire interns for their new Bangalore office. The leading global investment management firm also extended pre-placement offers to the previously selected interns for their Investment Banking Division, adding another feat in the history of SSCBS.
The students also received pre-placement offers from companies like KPMG, RocSearch and Grofers. Another key highlight of the season was the successful coordination of a session conducted by KPMG on FY 2019-20 Union Budget. The session discussed the components of the Budget and addressed its impact on the Indian economy, while simultaneously prompting the attendees to engage in the discourse with a conscious mind.

The college further fostered its relationship with EY by hosting EY Corporate Finance Woman of the Year, a competition that provided an opportunity to the winners to work in the Transaction Advisory Services department of the firm. It gives us immense pleasure to announce that one of our students represented India in the global finals and secured a place amongst the top 10 finalists round the world.
The college also witnessed the participation of 175+ companies offering 370+ internship offers in various domains like Finance, Consulting, Analytics, Marketing, Software Development, Research, etc. A UK Based Hedge Fund, Shannonside Capital, hired interns from the college for the profile of Hedge Fund Junior Analyst.
Career Development Centre (CDC) aims at connecting the students of the college with the best possible opportunities by providing them with a thriving platform and an early corporate exposure. Hence, CDC took the initiative of preparing a Comprehensive Information Document for the students sitting for placements by collecting data from the students who already appeared in the processes last year.
The document encompasses job descriptions, details regarding placement processes, questions asked during different rounds (technical and HR), etc. CDC also initiated a project called ‘The Buddy Project’ wherein each second-year student has been allotted a third-year student as their mentor to guide them through their placements.
Another initiative taken up by the cell is CBS Alumni for Recruitment and Excellence (CARE) Program, which aims to bridge the gap between the students and the corporate world.
This year, the program witnessed participation of 16 mentors in assisting the
second-year students by helping them to get exposure to the dynamic business
environment. Like every year, CDC also conducted resume authentication programs to constantly keep a check on the information included in resumes and make sure that only authentic details go through to the companies.
With many ambitious projects, initiatives and extensive training and development
sessions, CDC works towards adding values to its students and raising the college stature via placements and internships.
