After entering the coveted Rs 200-crore-club in a week, Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju has now crossed Rs 250 crore-mark at the box office within 10 days of the release. According to a statement from the film’s producers, the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer has earned Rs 265.48 crore and is expected to Rs 300-crore club. The Ranbir Kapoor film is still going strong at the box office and has broken as many records as it has created.
Halfway into the movie and you feel how Ranbir Kapoor is not acting, he’s living Sanjay Dutt. He’s not the actor, he’s the man who he’s playing. Rajkumar Hirani & Abhijat Joshi have a formula they follow; every important scene has three important things – drama, emotions & fun.
Directed by Hirani, Sanju is the biopic of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt and opened to mixed reviews – the film has mainly been bashed for its blatant whitewashing of Dutt’s life. The audience, however, seems to have loved Ranbir’s performance and the unending footfalls at the theatres are enough proof.
Sanju 10th day box office collections had a huge Second Sunday at box office as collections jumped again from Second Saturday.
Sanju Box Office Collections Day 10:

Total Till date Box Office Collections of Sanju:

“Maintaining a steady hold in its second weekend, Sanju collected Rs 12.9 crore on Friday, Rs 22.02 crore on Saturday and Rs 28.05 crore on Sunday, taking the total collection to Rs 265.48 crore.” said a close source to the team’s UNIT.
RAJEEV MASAND reviewed the movie as: Sanjay Dutt’s fascinating life story makes for a compelling, emotional film, but Sanju, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, doesn’t shy away from the fact that it’s a one-sided, practically first-person defence of the actor’s many transgressions. And boy, does it work hard to make you question that ‘khalnayak’ image! So is he a bechara or a bad-boy? I’ll let you decide for yourself. I’m going with three-and-a-half out of five for Sanju. It’s a consistently engaging film that makes its way to your heart even though the head frequently resists.
While TARAN ADARSH wrote: Powerful… Engaging… Emotional… Compelling… Rajkumar Hirani proves, yet again, he’s a master storyteller… This one will be a MONSTROUS HIT. Making a biopic isn’t child’s play, but Hirani and co-writer Abhijat Joshi encompass pertinent episodes from Dutt’s life to weave a spellbinding screenplay… #Sanju is an emotional journey… Goes beyond providing mere entertainment and emerges triumphant.
The film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal and Jim Sarbh among others; it released on June 29.
