Usually, students mandatorily go through a conventional two-month internship in the industry but the RICS School of Built Environment (SBE), Amity University, has implemented a unique internship idea. RICS SBE has transformed internships into intensive research projects based on the specific needs of the industry.
In pre-lockdown/normal times, the RICS usually arranged these internships by approaching industry organizations. The corporates in return give their requirements for interns, along with the location, profiles, and stipend offered. It is then floated amongst students and those students avail the opportunity according to their field of interest. These two months of hands-on industry experience often gets translated into a pre-placement offer.
This year, however, due to the lockdown, RICS SBE has arranged research-based internships. These internships are ‘work from home friendly’ and allows students to complete their internships at home itself. The MD of RICS SBE, Mr.Ashwani Awasthi has commented that by this decision, they have made internships with leading industrial bodies directly available to students at their homes.
