The expected first day of the college became quite odd and strange for the freshers as the rain spoiled thier whole mood of geling up with thier seniors and prepare for a healthy college environment.
Seniors visiting thier juniors in thier classes is like a trend that’s followed in DU and many of the students were excited for this induction and many of them were nervous too, the fear of being ragged was there with them but still in a part they were ready to face thier fear.
It not be wrong to say thier all excitement just went down the rain.
Rains might be the best and most awaited part of the year but students of DU are regretting why that day was full of rain.
Some interviews of some students from different colleges are covered by the Times Of India news press and they are:-
Roohi Bajaj, a fresher at Hans Raj College, said, “It was a dull day. We were expecting it to be pretty interesting but nothing like that happened. Our seniors did not come to meet us because it was raining. We sat in our classrooms, waiting for them to at least come and meet us, but nothing like that happened. They might meet us on Monday now.”
Diya Bhardwaj, a fresher at Kirori Mal College, added, “It did not seem like the first day. Our seniors came to meet us but they did not stay for long. We thought that it would be a fun day chatting with them but it did not turn out the way we expected because of rain.”
Priyanka Vaid, a fresher from Hans Raj College, added, “The rain actually helped us to get through the first day without any fear of ragging. I was feeling a bit nervous about meeting seniors, but since it started raining in the first half, most of us left early and could not meet them. Seniors se milna toh hai hi, toh next week hi mil lenge.”
Few officers from nearby police station made sure that the campus remains ragging free area and the fresher students feel comfortable without facing any fears.
