IIT-Bombay heads toward going online next semester

In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, Indian Institute of Technology-
Bombay will go entirely online next semester and not call students for
face-to – face lectures, its director said on Thursday.
The decision, the first by any IIT, followed deliberations which
continued until late Wednesday night.
“After a long deliberation in the Senate, we agreed that the next
semester would be run solely in online mode so that there would be
no compromise on the safety and well-being of the students. The
COVID pandemic made us reconsider the way we provide education
to our students,” said IIT-Bombay Director Subhasis Chaudhuri.
