As most of the exams of school and colleges are cancelled because of covid-19 outbreak. This year IITs are thinking not to keep 12th class marks as a criteria for admissions.
The idea of not considering board marks criteria was proposed by the JEE chairpersons during a JIC (Joint implementation committee) meeting which consists of JEE chairpersons of all IITs. This was proposed as boards have decided their own methods for awarding the marks to the scrapped exam, there will be no common parameter for awarding of marks and that won’t be fair to candidates.
The idea is yet to be approved by JAB (Joint Admission Boards). JAB has directors of all IITs and representatives of HRD ministry. The Institutes are also trying to conduct JEE (advanced) for international students. The JEE advanced will be held On 27th September.
