Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay is starting a new program namely Healthcare Informatics

Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay is starting a new program from the next academic session namely Healthcare Informatics as stated in a social post by Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director IIT Bombay. The programme will be initially offered to B.Tech and Dual Degree students.

 

 

The course may also be offered to MTech students in the future.

 

IIT Bombay director Subhasis Chaudhuri said that the initiative is aims to open exciting opportunities for graduates, including the possibility of doing startups in the healthcare domain.

 

The programme will address teaching and research on a wide spectrum of topics.

 

It will cover topics like clinical data management, healthcare ethics and standards, modelling, data efficient machine learning etc.

 

Irrespective of whether IITB will expand its offerings in the area that sees a convergence of engineering and healthcare, its initiative in this space is worth appreciating.
