DUSU Tribute

Today, Delhi University Students’ Union paid tribute to Shri Arun Jaitley- one of the most dynamic leaders India has seen, and himself a former DUSU President, on his first death anniversary.

As a tribute to Shri Arun Jaitley, DUSU has decided to identify 100 spots in Delhi where they shall be starting study centres to help thousands of underprivileged school going students learn through the initiative “Basti ki Pathshala”. DUSU also launched the poster for the initiative where they will be collaborating with Students For Seva (SFS).

“Basti ki Pathshala” aims to benefit the students who will get to learn as well as the volunteers, in who it aims to instill a sense of gratitude and empathy. It aims to help the volunteers give back to the society and develop leadership traits in them. “Basti Ki Pathshala” will help schoolgoing kids have access to quality teaching from young volunteers.

Akshit Dahiya, President, DUSU, said, “Late Shri Arun Jaitley was a dynamic leader who inspired millions with his articulate eloquence, vigour and vision. As a tribute to him on his first anniversary, and as proud members of a Union which he once led, we have decided to start educational centres for the underprivileged across Delhi.

The posters for the initiative, which is being taken up in collaboration with Students For Seva (SFS) have been launched. DUSU will keep on coming up with more such initiatives in the future in hope that education reaches the underprivileged and that through education we get more leaders like Shri Arun Jaitley. We pay our humble tributes to him on his first death anniversary.”
