Delhi University earlier decided to scrap Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) quota for the new admissions. The decision has been objected by many teacher’s because it will be unfair for those student’s who are talented.
Academic Council
Academic Council of Delhi university protested against this decision, wrote letters to Arvind Kejriwal and Manish sisodia along with Yogesh Tyagi, VC.
The University has decided to consider ECA student’s this year. The deadline for admission process has already been extended till 31 July, 2020.
ECA College societies
Various college societies like Dance , dramatics, quizzing and Debating protested against this decision using Instagram. Many colleges participated in this protest.
The protest took place for the safety of the societies as well because if there will be no ECA student admitted to DU then the options to choose talented student’s for society will be finished.
