National Students Union of India (NSUI) has demanded the ‘Institute of Eminence ’ tag for Delhi University. The agenda that NSUI released on Monday for the DU Students Union Election (DUSU) , includes free laptop for first year students and affordable canteen rates .

It is believed that the financial help they will get after acquiring the tag will ultimately help out DU – a central university which is diverse in every aspect .

NSUI has also mentioned that University initially acquired several laptops for the first year students at the start of Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) but took it back from students after the programme was brought to an end .

The promises NSUI made included getting these laptops for first year students , fight for a cheaper metro pass , affordable but nutritious food at canteens amongst others. Although it is said that return of AAP’S Student Wing Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti ( CYSS) may change the dynamics this year .
