DU Admission 2019: The Delhi University admission committee has declared that the admission process for the academic year 2019-20 will begin by May 1, 2019. The admissions were prior expected to begin by April 15, 2019. However perceive the new changes to be integrated the dean of student welfare on March 15, 2019, declared about the delay in the admission process.
Reason for the delay in the admission process is due to the university working on collecting all the database of the aspirants registered with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
According to this policy, the university will acquire the data of particular applicants registering for DU admissions from the database of the CBSE for easier processing.
The official said that mark sheets and certificates can be collected directly once and if they are able to get the database of the aspirants making the process a lot more clear. The process of getting the database is still ongoing.
Changes in the admission process include:
- Change in a deduction of marks for stream change- earlier for stream change there will be deduction of 5% from “best of 4 marks” From class 12th stream. This has now reduced to a deduction of 2%.
- Delink Sports and ECA Quota- Until last year, the admissions to the sports and ECA quota was managed along with the regular admissions. From this academic year onwards the admissions for applicants from the sports and ECA category admissions will be isolated. The trails for the sports and ECA category aspirants will begin on May 20, 2019.
