DU Officials said that on Saturday,  45,390 aspirants taking admission by the end of the 2nd day of the 4th cutoff, on the evening,  3,932 cancellations were done in DU.

Aspirants withdraw admissions by the end of the 3rd or 4th cutoffs. Dean of Students Welfare and OSD (admissions) Gurpreet Singh Tuteja communicate through Mail Today that this occurs due to the fact that aspirants in the 1st cut-offs usually take admission in the college of their choice and by the time the 3rd or 4th lists are out, with a slight change in the percentage, they influence to change to the courses of their choice in the particular college. According to the University of Delhi, maximum cancellations were made in B.Com (Hons) at 2,305, B.Com prog. at 1,717, B.A.Prog. at 1,441, Economic (Hons) at 934 and English Hons at 765.

As per the current data, maximum cancellations took place at Ramjas College at 383, Daulat Ram College for women at 435, Bharati College at 425, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College at 426 and  Gargi College at 396.

After so many cancellations, seats for many courses are still vacant for  English (Hons),  Economic (Hons) and B.Com (Hons), colleges at the Delhi University. 4th cut off for admissions are open till Monday.

DU officials said that due increase of so many withdrawals, colleges are likely to announce more cut off lists after the 5th  cut off list which was basically scheduled to be announced on July 12.
