While every student is waiting for the newly updated UGC Guidelines in order to get clarity about their exams, some states have decided against holding examinations, there is great uncertainty over others as there is yet to be an official communication from the University Grants Commission in this regard.
Students anticipate a standardized final year appraisal judgment. Union HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also recently asked the UGC to “revise” its guidelines on conducting exams and the next academic calendar in the face of rising COVID-19 cases.
The basis for revisited guidelines would be students’ health and safety, the minister had pointed out. Nonetheless, the recommendations have not been released until date.

The higher education regulator had released a set of guidelines back in April that said fresh admissions should be completed in August and classes scheduled to start in September. The guidelines permits universities to choose their exam modes.
