In the wake of coronavirus pandemic, the Ministry of Home affairs permitted the colleges to hold the final year assessments by September. “The terminal semester will be directed by the colleges before the finish of September, 2020 in disconnected (pen and paper) or on the web or mixed (online + Offline) mode,” the University Grants Commission (UGC) reported today.

The choice came after Union service of home issues said it has sent a letter to the Union advanced education Secretary allowing colleges and establishments to lead assessments.

The home service said the finish of-term assessments are necessary as indicated by UGC rules. “The last Term Examinations are to be mandatorily led according to the UGC Guidelines on Examinations and Academic Calendar for the Universities; and according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) affirmed by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,” the letter referenced.
