Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics is known throughout India as a college that nurtures the talent and acumen of its students by giving them access to apt platforms to reach their highest potential. ILLUSION is the flagship festival organized by the Friends Of Library Association. This festival not only celebrates literature, but also aims at inculcating leadership and communication skills, the ability to contemplate and cogitate various imaginative theories and put on paper what gushes down one’s brain cells.

 

 

This year, the college’s vision is to assist students develop a knack for battling it out in the world by focusing on an array of events that’ll help put their competitive shoes on. Living up to ‘Unpause’ as their theme, their bundle of events brings ad-pitching and Wingardium Leviosa, not forgetting the Open Mic and Living the Meme. ILLUSION is ready to cater to literature lovers and host activities to culminate an all-round personality development in a fun-filled way. These events include not only speaker sessions ranging from leadership, mental health to writer interactions but also events based on trivia, game events, open mic and leadership workshops.

 

To describe the event ‘Who Sold It’ which requires creative and persuasive talents, it is a platform where participants will have a chance to pitch an idea about a product and create a video advertisement to convince watchers.

 

Now, everyone can unanimously agree that memes have made the lockdown bearable, so this is the participants’ chance to make people laugh through the medium of our second event ‘Livin’ The Meme’.

 

For their next event, Illusion tries to give the people, with too much to say but nowhere to say it, a little bubble to express their thoughts in an event called ‘Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si’.

 

A trivia for all the dreamers out there called ‘Wingardium Leviosa’ where they can prove their wizarding knowledge and feel like they belong in Harry Potter, is next in line.

 

There is also a knowledgeable event called ‘Help and Gain Leadership Workshop’ by AIESEC which will enlighten you on the experience of international volunteering. AIESEC is a global platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. It is a non-political, independent & not-for-profit organization run by students and graduates of institutions of higher education. The membership is interested in world issues, leadership and management.

 

Their speaker sessions are fully knowledge-packed as luminous personalities from different walks of life come to interact with the participants.

 

Dr. Coomi S. Vevaina, Ph.D Literature and Ph.D Education is going to be talking about ‘To be and How To Be – Living Sanely Now and After COVID-19’. She is a TedX speaker, literary critic, teacher, educator, writer, and storyteller. She has so far published 11 books and 58 papers that have appeared in national and international journals and critical anthologies.

 

Mr. Puneet Krishna, writer and lyricist – his speech will revolve around ‘A candid peek into the rollercoaster life of a writer’. Mr. Puneet Krishna’s prestigious contributions are all over the works of ‘Bangistan’ and ‘3 Storeys’. He has also lent his words to episodes of Amazon Prime shows ‘Inside Edge’ and ‘Mirzapur’.

 

Another speaker they have on board is Dr. Harish Shetty, Leading Psychiatrist, whose topic is ‘Mind in the Middle: Managing the Homo Sapiens’. He has extensive experience in the field of mental health. He has  Latur, Kandla, Jabalpur, and Gujarat, evaluating the psycho-social processes going on inside the victims’ minds.
