Maharashtra Government decides to cancel final year exams

As the number of covid-19 patients are rising, the Maharashtra Government has decided to cancel final year exams. Maharashtra’s CM Uddhav Thackeray recently wrote a letter to PM Modi regarding the problem and asking to guide authorities to support the government’s decision.
In the letter CM wrote that the decision is taken by the government as the cases are increasing day by day and conducting exams would be a huge risk. Parents of some students are also concerned about the same.
The CM asked the PM to direct the educational bodies like AICTE, COA, PCI, BCI and UGC to support their decision of not conducting final year exams in the state. The Universities are directed to formulate a criteria of their own for awarding degrees to final year students, the students might also be given an option to appear for exams later if the situation is normal.
