“Final Semester semester exams will definitely happen,” said the Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank today during a live communication with advanced education foundations across India. The University Grants Commission (UGC) had recommended holding tests for all understudies in July, notwithstanding, the HRD serve said that if the circumstance caused due to the coronavirus doesn’t improve by July, at that point the main year understudies can be advanced dependent on inward evaluation. So also, the transitional year or semester understudies can be advanced by giving 50 percent weightage to inner appraisal and 50 percent to past scholarly execution.

For final year understudies, in any case, the clergyman said that the term-end tests will be directed. “On the off chance that the circumstance doesn’t improve by July, at that point, new dates or methods of leading tests can be thought of however the test will occur for definite year understudies,” he said.

The UGC had proposed before that schools can likewise advance in their evaluation parameters. This has lead to a few colleges and universities to decide on online method of assessment. Understudies from across India have been restricting last year tests guaranteeing absence of foundation, deficient courses among others. Further, most colleges have declared to hold tests on the web. This has not gone down well with instructors or understudies. Further, understudies likewise dread the postponement in getting degrees which thusly can affect their joining their occupations.

The tests in July will be held in the midst of tight security and cleanliness concerns. He additionally said that if understudies have complaints they can connect with UGC’s COVID-19 team.
