A session will be held for female students of Delhi University on 8 June for the first time to assist them with admission related queries.
The Dean of Students Welfare, Rajeev Gupta reported that the second session that is going to be held on June 8 will be majorly focused on the female students.The University organises Open Days with the sole purpose of resolving students queries related to the admission process.
Payal Mago, principal ofShaheed Rajguru College of Applied sciences for Women, Pratyush Vatsala, principal of Lakshmibai College, a representative of Non – Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB) will be the panellists
Various courses and options, including the NCWEB, available for the female students will be discussed by the panellists.
DU offers several courses especially for girls and there are more women’s only colleges, so it was necessary to resolve the queries of female students. Daulat Ram College, Bharati College, Lakshmibai College, Maitreyi College, Jesus and Mary College, Aditi Mahavidyalaya, Lakshmibai College, etc are some of the women’s colleges in the varsity.
The NCWEB has enabled women, who are unable to attend regular college for various reasons, to mark their attendance during weekends and during academic breaks to obtain their respective degrees from DU. It encourages the female students of the national capital to give exams with special coaching without attending the regular classes once in a week.
The NCWEB is present and well functioning in 26 UG centres and one PG centre. There are a lot of UG centres being run in various colleges of the university.
