DU releases academic calendar for 2021-22: Important details you need to know

Delhi University released its revised academic calendar for the session 2021-22. The academic calendar comprises the details about the new academic year for the students who are currently in the first year.

As per the latest calendar, the new session will start from August 31, 2021. Before the commencement of the new session, the second/even semester exams will be held between August 12 to August 24, after which there will be a six days semester break. The preparatory break for the semester shall begin from August 3 and end on August 11. During this period, there will be conduction of the practical examinations.

BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri on the same day of announcement met DU officials to discuss opening of a college for students from rural areas in south Delhi.

“Ramesh Bidhuri, Member of Parliament, visited DU to discuss progress on opening a college for rural areas in south Delhi. He met the VC, DSC, estate officer, Dean Works and officers of the engineering department. He promised to help DU in facilitating progress in this endeavour,” the varsity tweeted.

Furthermore, earlier it was stated that the admission process for this year might be shelved till the end of July when the CBSE class 12 results will be announced. The evaluation criteria being used by the CBSE might have an impact on DU cut-offs, but authorities say it is “too soon” to tell.

“It’s too early to tell whether this will impact DU cut-offs in any way. The CBSE has only declared its formula, but we will have to see how it is implemented. We only have to do with the results at the end of the day; it is very difficult to say anything till we have the results in front of us. To say anything before that is pure speculation. Today’s formula has no implication on us,” said the Admissions Chairperson Rajeev Gupta.
