DU Professor loses Rs 60,000 credit card points

A 30 year Man was arrested today for cheating a retired Delhi University professor by redeeming his credit card points. DU professor has already filled a complaint that he received bulk messages from accused. He uploaded credit card details on a web link send by accused because of which 60,000 points were redeemed.

The accused bought Amazon gift cards from that money and sold them to people. During the police investigation, gift cards purchased from this fraud transaction were found.

“It was found that a woman, Ashu, had redeemed those gift cards in Hyderabad. She informed that her brother Imran bought the gift cards from an online website from one Adarsh,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) Monika Bhardwaj said.

The accused was lodged in Delhi Jail and has been arrested for cheating. He have also fooled many people in the past police found. During interrogation, accused disclosed that he sent link to many people for details such as card number, CVV number, date of expiry. He used this information for transaction on his Amazon Pay account. He sold several gift cards online on a website, police added.
