Three candidates of Congress backed National Students Union of India ( NSUI) made a plea challenging the polls which resulted in The Delhi High Court directing Delhi University to securely keep the EVMs used in the DUSU elections .
Sunny Chhillar, Meena and Saurabh Yadav – the three candidates of NSUI who made the plea challenged the election in high court on the ground that the EVMs were tampered with . The plea demanded the EVMs in the Delhi University must be took care of so that they don’t become faulty or go missing.
The data from seven EVMs had gone missing according to the plea . Plea also questioned as to how these EVMs were “privately procured” and also informed that these machines were tampered with .
Three posts including that of president were won by ABVP , NSUI bagged one post whereas CYSS won none . There isn’t much focus given to the security and maintenance of EVMs . There would be no justice to the contesting candidates if the EVMs are not working properly and the data’s going missing .
