Shakti Singh, the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) president has written to Yogesh Tyagi, the Vice Chancellor, requesting him to postpone the final exams during the general elections.
He has also requested the Election Commission to issue an advisory to all the educational institutions for the postponement of the exams.
In his letter to Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, Singh has stated that with the coming up of the general elections, most of the youth voters will be exercising their right.

However, some institutions have scheduled their exams to start from the last week of April, thus preventing the students from taking part in the elections.
Hence, in order to safeguard their rights, the DUSU president has requested that all educational institutions schedule their exams in tune with the specified dates of voting.
