This year, Delhi University saw over 2 lakh registrations for its undergraduate courses. The registration for the admission process commenced on 2 August 2021 and ended on 31 August 2021.
With almost one passed with the registration process over, students are now eagerly waiting for Delhi University to release its cut-offs. As per reports, Delhi University is likely to release its UG cut-off lists by next week.
Earlier, it was said that the 1st UG cut-off would be released on 1st October 2021. However, the officials said that they will be holding a series of meetings with college principals to finalise the cut-off schedule.
“We will finalise the cut-off schedule very soon. October 1 is a tentative date for the first cut-off. We plan to release the cut-off on that day. We will be holding meetings with college principals and nodal officers to finalise the schedule.”, said Professor Rajeev Gupta, chairman of the university’s admission committee.
Further, the schedule of the first five cut-offs will be released by next week. The dates will be scheduled to accommodate students who are appearing for improvement or compartment exams.
A college principal, who don’t want to reveal his name said that they have already started to conduct meeting at their college level. They have begun to analyse the cut-off trend. Another principal informed that the data of applications from the university is yet to be received and once they have all the data, they will decide accordingly.
However, it is important to note that the cut-offs will be higher this year because of higher results in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board examinations. A considerable amount of students secured more than 95% in their board examinations.
Moreover, Delhi University saw a dip in the number of registrations as compared to past year. Over 2.87 lakh students have applied for undergraduate courses this year. It is down from 3.53 lakh applications last year.
