COLLEGES AT DU

The University of Delhi has given affiliation to 83 colleges, which have further been divided into different campuses. With so many choices, selection of the best college gets really challenging for the students. Situated in the national capital, the university has the best colleges offering several courses in different streams including Commerce, Arts, and Science.

North Campus Colleges in Delhi University:

1 St.stephen’s college

St. Stephen’s College is a Christian constituent college of the University of Delhi located in Delhi, India . The college admits both undergraduates and post-graduates, and awards degrees under the purview of the University.

2 Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC)

Shri Ram College of Commerce or SRCC as its popularly known is one of the most sought after colleges in North Campus for Commerce and Economics courses. The college got third rank in NIRF 2017 list. The college also offers global exchange programs and study abroad opportunities.

3 Hindu College

Founded in 1899, Hindu College is one of the most preferred North Campus Colleges in Delhi University for UG and PG courses in Science, Social Sciences, and Humanities. The college was recently awarded A+ grade by NAAC. Another factor that draws the attention of students towards Hindu College is its feasible fee structure. Fees for Science course is just INR 8000-10,000 while Arts students need to pay around INR 5000-6000.

4 Miranda House (For Women)

Topping the NIRF 2017 list, Miranda House is one of the best colleges in North Campus in DU. By starting top B.Sc. Honours course in Delhi University in 1948, Miranda House initiated Science education for women. Miranda House offers liberal education in humanities and science to thousands of students.

5 Hansraj College

With alumni like Shah Rukh Khan, Anurag Kashyap and Naveen Jindal, Hans Raj College is one of the well-known and highly reputed colleges in the list of North Campus Colleges in Delhi University. This is a co-educational institute offering courses in all the three streams: Arts, Science, and Commerce. 6 Daulat Ram College (For Women)

Daulat Ram College is a women-only college offering courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science. Established in 1960, Daulat Ram College was earlier named as Pramila College. Apart from regular courses, it also offers additional courses in foreign languages and women & development. By showing excellent performance in academics and sports, it acquired the star college status from the Government of India.

7 Aditi Mahavidyalaya (For Women)

Established in 1994, Aditi Mahavidyalaya is a North Campus College in Delhi University. Apart from imparting regular education, the college also recognises and fosters the talent in educationally underprivileged groups of the society. Students at this North campus college of DU build a community without discrimination.

8 Indraprastha College (For Women)

Widely known as IP College, Indraprastha College for Women is the oldest institute for women in Delhi University. The college was established in 1924 for women empowerment and education. The USP of the college is BA (Hons) course in Mass Media and Mass Communication, which is ranked among the best in the country. This is one of the six colleges offering BJMC (Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication) course

9 Kirori Mal College

KMC or Kirori Mal College is not just a place to get theoretical knowledge but also an institution for the overall development of the students. Also known as Amitabh Bachchan’s college, the college is popular for its sports ground developed on the Commonwealth standards, theatre and debating society. It is one of the top North Campus Colleges in Delhi University.

10 Ramjas College

Ramjas College is one of the oldest and top commerce colleges in Delhi University. This north campus college in the University of Delhi is one of the first three colleges established under DU in 1922. This college offers degrees in Liberal Arts, Commerce, and Science. It also offers language courses in French, German, Spanish and Italian languages. The college also has some of the best eating joints in North Campus making it popular among students.

11 Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur (SGTB) Khalsa College

SGBT is a constituent of Delhi University, which was established by Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee in 1951. The major centre of attraction at the college campus is a beautiful hangout area which students often call as Jannat.

12 Swami Shraddhanand College

Swami Sharddhanand is a co-educational institution, which is run under the trusteeship of Delhi Govt. The college offers various undergraduate and postgraduate level courses.

13 Delhi School of Economics

The Delhi School of Economics was established in 1949 by V.K.R.V Rao with then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s support. By imparting quality education, the college has given the country many leading academics, educators, policy makers and journalists. The two-year MA programme in Economics at the Delhi School of Economics is not just to get a degree but also to get a thorough grounding in economic theory, pragmatic techniques, and modern policy debates.

14 Satyawati College

Named after the great freedom fighter, Behen Satyawati, this college is a co-educational institution. Students from all strata of the society get admission in this DU College for higher education. The college proudly boasts of one of the best auditorium “Satya Auditorium” in the North Campus Colleges in Delhi University.

15 Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce

1 Acharya Narendra Dev College

Acharya Narendra Dev College is the only college under Delhi University to offer degree courses for Science students. The college provides various research opportunities funded by DST, DBT and CSIR to develop intellectual curiosity and critical thinking

2 Bharti college

Bharti College is one of the top South Campus colleges in Delhi University. The college offers 11 courses in Arts and Social Sciences. Apart from this, students also get choices of eight honours courses. It also offers Master’s course in Hindi.

3 Sri Venkateswara College

Founded in 1961 by three loyalists Smt. Durgabai Deshmuck, Dr. K.L. Rao and Dr. C. Anna Rao, Sri Venkateswara College is one of the premium colleges in South Campus. Since its inception, the college has flourished by leaps and bounds and became one of the reputed institutions in DU.

4 Kamla Nehru College

Built in the memory of freedom fighter Kamla Nehru, this is an all women Delhi University College in South Campus. KNC today is one of the leading commerce colleges in India. It educates and nurtures the young women to help them think independently and live confidently and courageously.

5 College of Vocational Studies

Established in 1972, College of Vocational Studies lays emphasis on vocational courses and strives to bridge the gap between traditional university courses. Apart from regular courses in Arts, Science and Commerce, College of Vocational Studies also offers courses in French, German and Spanish languages.

6 Gargi College

Gargi College is a top South Campus college in DU offering special courses for women. This is one of the only two colleges to win ‘Prestigious College with a Potential for Excellence Grant’ by the UGC. Apart from modern infrastructure, Gargi College also has fully Wi-Fi enabled campus to drive attention of the students.

7 Lady Shri Ram College (For Women)

Lady Shri Ram College is one of the premier institutes in India for higher learning for women and one of the top South Campus Colleges in Delhi University. Lady Shri Ram College is primarily an undergraduate DU South Campus college offering enrichment courses including Gender Studies, Sports Journalism, and Mathematical Awareness, to name a few. The college got 7th rank in the list of top 100 colleges by National Institutional Ranking Framework (MHRD) in 2017.

8 Delhi College of Arts and Commerce

Delhi College of Arts and Commerce tops the list of South Campus colleges in Delhi University when it comes to higher education institutions. Also known as DCAC, the college offers a range of UG courses in Arts, Commerce and Journalism, and diploma courses in foreign languages.

9 Jesus & Mary College

Jesus & Mary is one of the top DU colleges in South Delhi campus. Established in 1968, JMC offers courses in Arts and Commerce. 10 Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC)

11 Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College (ARSD)

Located in Dhaula Kuan, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College is one of the best colleges in the list of South Campus Colleges in Delhi University. It’s dramatic society ‘Chalo Dilli’ is one of the things college is known for.

12 Maitreyi College

Maitreyi College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi, which has made rapid progress since its inception in 1967. Topping the list of DU South Campus colleges, the college spreads over ten acres of lush greens.

13 Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research

The Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR) is making efforts to become one of the first Pharmacy University of India. The college has shown tremendous growth since inception not just in terms of infrastructural improvements but also in terms of quality of education.

14 Deshbandhu College

Deshbandhu College is one of the top Delhi University colleges in South Campus. It got 8th rank in the list of top science colleges in Delhi by India Today in 2010. This is one of the oldest and largest co-educational Delhi University institutions in South Delhi

15 Dyal Singh College

16 Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo-Vedic (P.G.D.A.V.) College

PGDAV is a premium South Campus college in the University of Delhi. This is a co-educational institution known for its excellence in academics, sports and other fields. It has a well-stocked and spacious library.

17 Sri Aurobindo College

Located in South Campus of DU, Sri Aurobindo College is a constituent part of Delhi University. The college offers various programmes in Arts, Science, and Commerce.

 DU COLLEGES(OFF CAMPUS)

1 Deen Dayal Upadhyay College

Widely known as DDUC, Deen Dayal Upadhyay College is one of the top off campus colleges in Delhi University. Apart from regular courses, it also offers Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) and Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS). DDUC is one of the only three colleges in the University of Delhi offering BBS. To get admission in this course, students need to take a National Level DU entrance exam.

2 Rajdhani College

Rajdhani College was established in 1964 in Kirti Nagar, New Delhi by the Delhi Administration. Its central location makes it easier for the students to access the campus from any corner of the national capital. 3 Shivaji College

4 Lakshmibai College

5 Keshav Mahavidyalaya

6 Mata Sundri College (For women)

Mata Sundri College for Women is a reputed off campus college in DU. Apart from traditional courses in Arts & Commerce, the college is also striving hard to become the major hub for Punjabi Language and Culture. It focuses on women empowerment by keeping them abreast with the latest technologies in the field of knowledge.

7 Vivekananda College

Vivekananda College was established in 1970 with the sole objective of offering higher education opportunities to the women in the Trans Yamuna area. The college now offers ten UG courses in Humanities and Commerce, two PG courses, and two other courses. This is one of the selected colleges in Delhi University offering UG course in Home Science.

8 Institute of Home Economics (IHE)

Institute of Home Economics (IHE) is one of the selected off campus colleges in DU which offers two-year diploma course in Home Science. Established in 1961, today it is a premier DU college offering both UG and PG courses in various streams.

9 Lady Irwin College

Founded in 1932, Lady Irwin College is Delhi University’s constituent college. Its well-equipped library has around 45000 books while computer lab has 40 systems. The college has shown tremendous growth in past decade which is expected to continue in future as well.

10 Maharaja Agrasen

Maharaja Agrasen College today is one of the prominent off campus colleges in Delhi University. In last twenty years, the college showed a tremendous growth in terms of quality of education, infrastructure, and excellence of students in every stream. The college organizes various national-international conferences every year.

11 Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women

Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women is one of the highly reputed colleges in the University of Delhi. The college offers various courses, some of which include B.Sc. (H) in Biomedical Science, Chemistry, Electronics, Food Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics.

12 Shaheed Sukhdev College

Formerly known as College of Business Studies, Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (CBS) made a top place in the list of off campus colleges in Delhi University by imparting knowledge in the subjects of Management & Information Technology. 13 Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences

Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences is a 100% Govt. of NCT of Delhi funded college, which was started in the year 1995. The college offers eight Bachelor of Science Honours courses in varied subjects. Varied departments of the college have different societies for the students.

14 Ramanujan College

Earlier named as Deshbandhu College (Evening), Ramanujan College was founded in 1958 by the Ministry of Rehabilitation. Earlier it was just a men’s college, but it later opened its doors for women in 1994. The college is spread over 7 acres of campus in Kalkaji. It offers various courses in Arts, Science and Commerce streams.

15 Zakir Husain College

One of the things making Zakir Husain College a well-known name among off campus colleges in Delhi University is its fundamental values. The college is known for its cultural diversity and quality of education. Students here can apply for undergraduate courses in Arts and Science disciplines.

16 Bhagini Nivedita College

Bhagini Nivedita College was established in 1993 with the objective to provide higher education to girls in rural and semi-urban areas. The college today offers various courses in Arts, Commerce and Science streams to above 1500 girls.

17 Bhim Rao Ambedkar College

Bhim Rao Ambedkar is a constituent college of Delhi University. This Off Campus College in Delhi University is sponsored by Delhi Government and caters to the higher education needs of students in Yamuna area. This co-educational institute offers four professional courses.

18 Janki Devi Memorial College

Janki Devi Memorial College was set up in 1959 to encourage women education. To keep pace with the rapidly changing global scenario, the syllabus is updated at regular intervals. The college focuses on overall development of the women studying here to make them independent.

19 Shyama Prasad Mukherji College (For women)
