Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, normal activities have come to a halt and exams are no other exception. The Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) recently released an official notification that stated that the Class 12th CBSE board exam stand cancelled this year. The board also stated that “Any student who is not satisfied with the assessment has an option to appear in the exam as and when the situation becomes conducive”. This decision was taken after a critical meeting held by The Prime Minister – Mr. Narendra Modi. This meeting was conducted in presence of the Union ministers, cabinet secretary and other important members, to discuss the current situation and the consequent measures.
The prime minister ensured that this decision was taken in favor of the students and he didn’t want to impose any kind of stress or anxiety on the students, parents or the teachers. He agreed with the fact that this pandemic has negatively affected student’s academic calendar.
It is further informed that a detailed notice on evaluation criterion can be expected to be released by June 3 when the upcoming hearing of the case on seeking cancelation of board exams will be heard by the Supreme Court.
Furthermore, after the cancellation of the CBSE Board examination on Tuesday, the Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) also announced that the ISC examination also stands cancel for this year. The details of the same will be notified soon.
