Amid the surging COVID-19 positive cases, CBSE class 12 board examinations 2021 have been shelved for months now. While, there is hullabaloo of the cancellation of the board examinations across the country, CBSE is planning to conduct another set of online practice tests for class 12th students before the board examinations.
CBSE affiliated schools in the nation have started summer vacations but special arrangements are made for the students to clear their doubts. Moreover, schools are planning to hold a test after the beginning of online classes post summer vacation.
These practice tests will be a way of self-evaluation for the students. It will provide a better clarity on the candidates’ scores, which the authorities would be asked to draw up by the board.
The decision was took by the schools when Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Union Education Minister, did not announce any updates of CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 cancellation after a meeting with education secretaries of different states.
In the meeting, the Education Minister highlighted the fact of closure of educational institutions for a longer period due to second wave of the pandemic. Additionally he stated, “While we have ensured that students are learning at home through various initiatives, we should focus on the needs of the aspirational districts where there is a digital gap so that we can empower the local bodies, NGOs and the parents and teachers.”
Moreover, pokhriyal also sought suggestions from states on the issue of the pending class 12 board exams. The CBSE Board exams were scheduled to begin on May 4 but were postponed because of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. “To conduct the Board Exams for Class XII, the situation will be reviewed on June 1 by the Board,” he added.
