AICTE revises academic calendar for 2021-22: Important details you need to know

The pandemic has significantly changed the shape of human life. The academic sphere of students was no exception to the drastic changes. As per the latest reports, All India Council for Technical Education has revised the academic calendar for the upcoming session 2021-22. The latest academic calendar is now available on the official website of AICTE i.e. aicteindia.org.in. 

 

The AICTE release said, “The academic calendar may change subject to conditions existing due to pandemic and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home, Ministry of Education from time to time.” It also warns of punitive action if any institution admits students without prior approval.

 

 

The approval of technical institutions, PGDM/ PGCM courses and institutions offering ODL/ Online Course for this academic year will be granted by the council by 30 June, 2021. Moreover, the Council will grant affiliation by University or Board by 15 July 2021. The last date for completion of the first round of counselling/ admission for allotment of seats is till August 31, 2021 and for the second round is September 9, 2021. Further, as per calendar, the last date for cancellation of seats for technical courses with full fee refund is September 10, 2021.

 

As per the revised calendar, the last date for commencement of classes for existing students of technical courses is till September 1, 2021. Also, the last date for commencement of classes for first-year students of technical courses is till September 15, 2021. 

 

Owing to the Covid-19 restrictions, the classes may start in online or offline or blended mode. All the classes will strictly follow the prescribed protocols and guidelines related to the pandemic. 

 

Further, AICTE has directed all the approved institutions and universities to follow AICTE/ UGC guidelines on examinations that are issued from time to time due to the pandemic.
