Aam Admi Party MP Sanjay Singh wrote a letter to Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, requesting that Delhi University’s online examination to be cancelled.
The OBE exams at Delhi University are scheduled to begin as of 10 July 2020. Delhi University is thinking to conduct mock exam for that purpose.
The first day of the mock test turned out to be a total nightmare with numerous significant issues that cannot be ignored including site crashing several times in the slot timings of the exam.
Despite repeated appeals from the authorities and demanding relief from the students by recognizing the extraordinary situation and cancelling the OBE, Varsity remains unmoved. Students for their callous and dismissive behaviour took to twitter and thrashed VC Tyagi, Dean(examination) Vinay Gupta and other concerned authorities.
#DUagainstionlineexam and #ScrapOBE are trend-setting on twitter and this demonstrates the widespread impact or influence of these university exams.
AAM MP Singh further mentioned in his letter to the Union Minister that the entire nation is fighting the Corona Virus pandemic, many have lost their livelihoods and even the education is adversely affected. Governments of the centre and state have sought to provide the people with relief.
This year, several states have also cancelled the exams but Delhi University has resorted to conducting online tests. This decision has threatened the future of thousands of students. Delhi University students had long since returned to their respective hometowns owing to the virus spread lockdown.
